Devil's Isle Shakespeare Co.

Shakespeare under open skies.

Founded in 2023 to produce exceptional Shakespeare plays in Bermuda. Now performing at the Amphitheatre at Riddell's Bay.

About the Company

A primary home for Shakespeare in Bermuda.

Devil's Isle Shakespeare Co. was founded in 2023 to produce exceptional Shakespeare plays in Bermuda.

Our 2026 production of Romeo & Juliet will be staged at the new outdoor Amphitheatre at Riddell's Bay. Both students and adults will be welcomed to this venue. Our shows will still have the flexibility to tour to other spaces, but our company will now have a primary home.

Our musical adaptation in 2025 of The Tempest celebrates the discovery of the island (the inspiration for the play, written in 1611) and provides, in addition to world-class entertainment, myriad opportunities for Bermudian students and theatre-lovers to study and engage with the play and our acting company. The production features original music by Emily Erickson and Séamus Miller.

All Bermudians ages 18 and under receive free admission to our productions.

Romeo & Juliet · 2026

The artistic launch event for Bermuda's newest public venue.

Like The Tempest, Romeo & Juliet will use live music and local musicians to elevate and reinforce the experience for audiences of all ages. Featuring more Bermudian performers than in any of our previous shows.

"This is the greatest love story of all time. Even though it's a tragedy, I find the ending to be incredibly hopeful. The bereaved parents, who were once arch enemies, find themselves grieving together. They cast aside all their differences and vow to build statues of each other's children. It's a story about non-violence. It's a story about radical positive change. And it's the right story for us to tell in 2026."
Séamus Miller, Artistic Director
