A return to Bermuda's natural state.
Riddell's Bay Gardens and Nature Reserve. Bermuda's largest natural green space. Protected in perpetuity. Home of the Amphitheatre.
Sixty-six acres of peaceful, open space.
Riddell's Bay Gardens and Nature Reserve is a peaceful, open space where nature in Bermuda can be experienced at its best. Created with the help of local experts, designers, and conservationists, the reserve is dedicated to protecting and restoring the island's native plants and wildlife.
Covering 66 acres, it's the largest natural green space in Bermuda. You'll find a mix of open landscapes, Bermuda cedar forests, clusters of yellowwood, and a wide variety of native and endemic species that are becoming increasingly rare elsewhere on the island.
The project began in 2016, when a group of environmentalists set out to transform the former private golf course into something more sustainable and accessible. With support from Bermudian investors and government approval, the reserve opened to the public in 2023.
Since then, the focus has been on bringing the land back to life: restoring wetlands, rebuilding habitats, and making thoughtful use of what was already here, from casuarina trees to traditional limestone walls.
Today, Riddell's Bay is a place to explore, learn, and enjoy, while helping ensure Bermuda's natural environment is protected for the future.
With thanks.
The Amphitheatre and the reserve are supported by a community of Bermudian investors, neighbours, and creative partners. Sponsors below; full list expanding as the venue opens.
Built to last, run on the reserve's terms.
Solar battery generation. Native planting. Zero-waste events. Limestone walls preserved, casuarina repurposed, wetlands restored. The Amphitheatre runs inside the reserve and on its terms, not the other way around.
